The replacement shopfront does not make provision for level access and, as such, renders the restaurant space inaccessible for wheelchair users and others requiring level access. This is not in accordance with policy HD19 Access for All of Liverpool's Unitary Development Plan, which requires provision for disabled people in new non residential development, Supplementary Planning Guidance Note 9 Shopfronts, paragraph 22 or the requirement set out in para 61 of the National Planning Policy Framework which emphasises the importance of inclusive design in new development.


Reasons 1

It is considered that insufficient information has been provided to establish the acceptability of the proposed development upon the appearance of the building or upon the street scene. The submitted drawings detail the proposed shopfront only, that is, just one third of the ground floor elevation of this building. The agent has declined to provide elevations of the full area of the ground and first floor of the building and a part elevations of the adjoining property as requested. Furthermore, no section drawing has been submitted.
