The proposal to introduce a gable roof extension on the dwelling would, by reason of its scale and design, unbalance the pair of semi-detached dwellings and would not be characteristic of the locality. Such an addition would appear as an alien feature in the streetscene, to the detriment of visual amenity, contrary to Policy H8 and HD18.
